wordleThe internet’s favorite daily word puzzle, is back today with another five-letter word to solve.
The rules of the puzzle, created by software engineer Josh Wardle, are simple: guess the mystery word of the day in six attempts or less, using the game’s color-coded grid system, which indicates how good you are close to getting the right answer.
A letter that is in the correct position will turn a green tile, while a letter that is included in the answer, but is in the wrong position, will turn a yellow tile. Finally, the thumbnail will turn gray if you select a completely incorrect letter, which means it is not part of the wordle of the day at all.
The less you try to solve the word of the day, the better, so Newsweek has put together some handy tips to point you in the right direction, and even the final answer if you need a little extra help.
The origins of “Word”
The puzzle is a play on Wardle’s name and was created by the engineer to be played by him and his partner, Palak Shah.
Wardle started working on the game in 2013, and he finished it during the pandemic. It was released to the public in October 2021, and after becoming a huge hit, the game was sold to The New York Times for an undisclosed seven-figure sum in January of this year.
