The rules of the game are as follows: unscramble a five-letter word in six tries or less. wordle can sometimes be tricky for all of us. That is why Newsweek has put together a handy guide with tips and tricks to point you in the right direction.
wordlecreated by software engineer Josh Wardle, follows a color-coded grid system that indicates how close you are to getting the correct answer.
A letter that is in the correct position will turn a green tile, while a letter that is included in the answer, but is in the wrong position, will turn a yellow tile. Finally, the thumbnail will turn gray if you select a completely incorrect letter, which means it is not part of the wordle of the day at all.
Generally, the fewer attempts it takes to decipher the word of the day, the better.
The origins of “Word”
The word puzzle is a play on Wardle’s name. He created the game to be played by him and his partner, Palak Shah.
The engineer started working on the project in 2013, and he perfected it during the pandemic. It was released to the public in October 2021, and after becoming a huge hit, the game was sold to The New York Times for an undisclosed seven-figure sum in January of this year.
