How to solve the Monday, May 2 word puzzle

The second wordle the riddle of the month seems to have eased the difficulty after Sunday’s tricky puzzle. But if you still have problems, Newsweek is here to give you a hand.

wordle asks players to solve the popular puzzle by guessing a mysterious five-letter word, in six tries or less. Many game fanatics started posting on Twitter to show how many tries it took them to guess the answer correctly.

The game is refreshed daily, with a new word to be calculated each day using color-coded clues.

With multiple strategies and tactics to incorporate into your wordle routine, some days your first guesses aren’t as successful as you might hope.

To avoid breaking this current streak, it is best to adapt and consider new strategies.

For example, trying to find the right vowels may prove less beneficial for a high consonant word like “Fuzzy”.

The game’s own developer, Josh Wardle, likes to spend his first tries knocking out as many of the alphabet as possible.

Wardle created wordle in collaboration with his partner Palak Shah. The couple started working on wordle in 2013 and later returned to the project in their spare time as the world went into lockdown during the pandemic.

In October 2021, Wardle released the game playing on his last name to the public, and wordle quickly became a global hit.

Hint #1 – Today wordle word is a noun.

Hint #2 – The answer starts with a mix of consonants, i.e. where two letters combine but they each produce their own sound. Such examples are “SL”, “ST”, “FL”, “SK”, “SW”, “GR”.

Tip #3 – You might want to choose “Strip” as the first word as it gives you two correct answers and one misplaced letter.

Clue #4 – Synonyms for May 2 wordle include “Tale”, “Story”, “Anecdote” and “Chronicle”.

Hint #5 – Merriam-Webster defines wordle #317 as: An account of incidents or events. It also defines it as a statement regarding the facts relevant to a situation in question.
